CVC™ 5.0
For Automotive, Handsets, Headsets, Infotainment and Speakers
Description
Manufacturers are constantly trying to source the best audio enhancement technology for Bluetooth audio solutions, including headsets, handsets and handsfree applications. To meet this need CSR created CVC 5.0, the latest version of its state-of-the art audio enhancement software. CVC 5.0 is modular and works with both single and dual-microphone headsets, giving advanced audio enhancements and noise suppression to the near and far end as well as providing packet loss and bit error concealment. CVC 5.0 is available for BlueCore5-Multimedia and features in several CSR ROM devices, including BC6140 and BC6150.
Key features
- Enhanced fifth-generation algorithm for BC6140, BC6150 and BlueCore5-Multimedia
- BC6140 provides single-microphone audio algorithm offering both far end and near end noise reduction
- BC6150 provides a dual-microphone audio algorithm offering enhanced near end and far end noise reduction
- Packet loss and bit error concealment
- Near-end speech intelligibility enhancements including adaptive equalisation
- Far-end audio enhancements including AGC, EQ and comfort noise
- Proven high performance echo cancellation
Benefits
Packet loss concealment/bit error concealment
- This error concealment module improves the quality of received audio by removing pops and clicks, for example, in severe cross-body situations. The algorithm improves audio quality and provides a better signal for subsequent CVC processing to work with
Near-end audio enhancement
Received audio quality is also greatly enhanced by a number of software modules in the reception signal processing chain including:
- Noise suppression - a single channel module for reducing the impact of stationary noise in received speech. This improves conversational performance and significantly boosts SNR for subsequent processing blocks
- Adaptive Equalisation - adjusts the received speech spectrum to exploit sensitive areas of human hearing without excessive amplification. Frequency content adapts depending on ambient noise - enabling conversations in harsh environments
- Equalisation - multiple parametric equalisation stages for compensation of the spectral characteristics of the loudspeaker
- Automatic gain control - provides amplitude smoothing and compensation for variances of speech level from different sources
- Noise dependent volume control - adjusts volume to compensate for background noise
Far-end audio enhancement
- Noise suppression - allows the user to be heard more clearly by the person at the far end by reducing background noise
- Echo cancellation - reduces echo generated between speaker and microphone
- Wind noise reduction - reduces the noise created by wind on the headset
