CSR India Social Responsibility: Youth for Seva (YFS)

Youth for Seva (YFS) was formed in April 2007 for young people to volunteer and find opportunities to serve the community in whichever ways they wish to. With YFS, CSR staff organised a Health Check-up Camp for all the house-keeping, security and maintenance staff working at the IBC Knowledge Park, where the office is located. These employees are low paid with very limited access to medical plans. A trip to the doctor is a major expenditure and only occurs as a last resort. 

YFS bought in the doctors from three hospitals in Bangalore. Together with the IBC Knowledge Park management, a one day health check-up was organised in April 2011 and 125 housekeeping and security staff received basic health checkups involving consultations with physicians, dentists and opticians. Medicines for simple ailments were prescribed and provided.
